SPOTLIGHT PROJECT

Kimberly Idaho lift station

Lift Station in Kimberly, Idaho

As residential and mixed-use development accelerates across Connecticut, municipalities are facing increased demand for modern, reliable, wastewater infrastructure. A recent Romtec Utilities project in Kimberly, Idaho, highlights how turnkey lift station solutions can support rapid growth while meeting regulatory and operational standards - even in areas without established infrastructure design protocols.

Overview

The Olsen Farms Lift Station was designed for a new 127-lot subdivision in Kimberly, Idaho. The project was a collaboration between the developer 3 Emeralds, Romtec Utilities, and the City of Kimberly. Because the city lacked formal lift station standards, Romtec modeled the system on existing infrastructure and worked closely with municipal and consulting engineers to deliver a complete, compliant solution.

Key system features include:

  • Duplex submersible Sulzer pumps
  • 113 GPM capacity
  • 6-ft diameter, 16.66-ft deep wet well
  • Micrologix 1400 PLC controller
  • Pressure transducer and redundant float sensors
  • Full commissioning, startup and operator trainer

Why this matters to Connecticut

Connecticut is currently prioritizing infrastructure modernization and supporting smart growth in cities and towns across the state. Connecticut communities may be dealing with:

  • Rapid residential and commercial development
  • Outdated or inconsistent utility standards
  • Limited staff time for engineering and procurement
  • Tight project timeliness and compliance requirements
Romtec Utilities offers a proven solution: prefabricated, design-build lift station that are fully integrated, tested, and compliant with local and regional regulations.
